Cobras, Kraits, Seasnakes, Coral Snakes and their relatives have fascinated us for centuries, and tales of their real and imagined behaviors feature in cultures worldwide. Small wonder, as all produce highly potent venoms, with a single bite of an adult King Cobra believed capable of killing 30 people or an Indian Elephant!

Obviously, Elapids should never be kept in private collections. Fortunately, these interesting, often active snakes are wildly popular in zoos, and easy to (safely!) observe there.
