Once considered suitable only for very advanced (and wealthy!) aquarists, the magnificent Discus is now widely-kept and available in many color morphs. However, these South American Cichlids can be challenging, as they demand excellent water quality, a varied diet, and a tank of at least 55 gal. capacity. Watching a pair fuss over their eggs and feed their fry with unique skin secretions is one of the most rewarding experiences a serious fish-keeper can hope for.
