Shetland Sheepdog Review

Shetland Sheepdogs are an excellent breed of dog. They are kind, intelligent, and easy to train dogs that are great for families, or individual owners. They are perhaps one of the most loyal breeds out there, as they will never leave your side. My Sheltie never needed a leash, as she loved to walk right next to me when going for our daily walks. They have a lot of energy, but also love to lay around the house. They are quite intelligent, and can be trained within a very short time period. These dogs are well suited for families, even those with small children, as they are mild mannered, and rarely show signs of aggression. They are also quiet, I had my Sheltie for an entire year before I ever heard her bark. The only negative of this breed is their timid nature. If you receive a Sheltie from a shelter, she or he may take up to a year or perhaps more to warm up to you. However, when they get accustomed to you, they make for a lovely companion. I would absolutely recommend this breed to anyone looking for a new friend to add to the family.
