There was always a bit of concern, selecting a dog that many say can become vicious guard dogs, but a dog is what you make of it. Meaning, if you train them well, they'll be as sweet as can be, and that just so happens to be what happened with my Rottweiler.

We gave him probably too much affection as a puppy, which fostered a very kind, loving environment and paved the way for a very kind, loving dog. Mind you - he does get rather rambunctious at times...he's very big and I don't think he quite realizes his size! Still, even between the loud barking at nights when he hears something outside and the few times he does get a little too hyper, there's very little that I can say about this puppy that is bad. If anything, he just needs to learn that he's much bigger than he thinks. If you're a little trepidatious about getting a big dog, I'd implore you to consider one of these guys - they'll have your heart melting and wondering why you didn't want a big dog in the first place.
