Ebony was an owner surrender that came to my training classes with her new owner, and has continued training with me individually, and stayed with me to train one on one without her owner also. This girl has FANTASTIC drive and is a very good bird dog! I encouraged her owner to continue in that direction and he has earned many titles with her not only in hunting, but also in competition obedience and earned a therapy certification as well. Of course there is the down-side to working in the field with a Poodle- many bloodlines (like this one) have great bird drive and soft mouths but there is a lot of grooming involved! The owner was also a professional groomer, so there are no issues there, but if you would like to hunt with your poodle (they were bred to help with waterfowl!) you may also want to invest in a grooming table, professional dryer, slippers, scissors, and grooming lessons unless you are financially comfortable paying $45+ per bath!
