Acquired: Worked with pet (didn’t own)
Training: I haven't learned care / training techniques

A sweet little fluff ball of a pup! She loved to be held and cuddled, but her owner reported she eliminated EVERYWHERE! So they contracted me for training. :) Also on the list of complaints was the constant vocalization, jumping on and nipping at guests (which included the grandchildren).
As many poodles do- she learned very quickly what could earn her a reward! But I would not necessarily say that training was a breeze because of this intelligence- if anything, it takes much more consistency as well as a consequence (I would clap very loudly and startle her as a consequence) to convince this smart cookie that behaving how I would like her to was the best path.
And as always with poodles- be ready for the grooming! If you want to keep a coat on the dog that is anything longer than an inch, you need to learn how to properly care for it- not just brush over the top with a slicker brush, but comb ALL the tangles out with a comb as well, all the way down to the skin.
