Among all the breeds of non-shedding dogs, since my mother and brother were both allergic to dog dander, the Schnauzers were the best by far. We named Lady after "Lady and the Tramp" even if she was not the same kind of dog on the movie.

The Schnauzer's I had before getting married and moving out of my parents house were all bred animals, smart dogs, and very family friendly. They were fairly hearty dogs who took very little to train as puppies. My mother had bred Lady and the puppies were adorable, also easy to train, and very playful for all ages, but they were terrific with babies and young children. They are also some of the most loyal dogs I've ever known.

If given the choice, I would had had Schnauzer's as family dogs later in life, and would recommend them to others.
