In my dog sitting days, I had the pleasure of watching Rocky. He was a big (and I mean big), muscular dog with boundless energy and surprisingly enough, did not drool as most big dogs do. Rocky was trained as a guard dog, and could probably bowl over anyone who came within a five mile radius of the house, if given the chance. It took three visits while the family was home, in order for me to be able to enter his house while his family was not there. He had to get used to having me around. when he accepted me as a member of the family, I learned that this big lug is just a cuddly teddy bear of a dog. He loved to play fetch, and loved to cuddle. Weighing in at almost 200 pounds, this bog dog thought he was a lap dog, and would sit on your lap and lick your face as you struggled to breathe under his massive size.
This dog is most definitely not an apartment dog. He needs room to run and play. However, these dogs are lovable and loyal, and should do great as a dog for the whole family.
