We got Bentley as a young puppy when we stumbled upon him online. He was in a tiny, dirty house that was breeding english bulldogs and the people realized that Bentley would be too big for them to handle. He would have been abused there due to the lack of time and space the people had, as well as the Bulldogs attacking him as a puppy. We took him home and loved him ever since. Bentley grew up with a Golden retriever at our house who taught him to swim, and a toy poodle and a shi tzu. He is very gentle with the small dogs and is in love with the toy poodle. Bentley is a big teddy Bear who loves to snuggle on the couch and he is very sweet to everyone he meets as long as he knows they are ok. He is protective of his property if a stranger comes to the house when no one else is home (as we have heard) he barks menacingly. Having a big 180 lb mastiff is a great deterrent to anyone coming by who shouldn't. More often then not people are afraid to get out of their cars only to realize he is outside their door wagging his tail waiting to play catch with them. He is great with children, but because of his size you have to be careful. He is fast and the ground shakes when he runs by. His size and clumsiness could cause a painful collision for a child or unstable adult but other than that he is one if the sweetest dogs there is.
