I've been an owner of a Leonberger namned "Vito" for 8 years together with my mum. Ever since we got him in 2005 we have loved every second of those years. The breed "Leonberger" are quite big dogs which I really prefer. Vito did almost never bark, he was so kind and happy to other people that he met. He was easy to clean even though they have a lot of fur. It's not getting that messy. I would say that Leonberger's are a wonderful dog for a big family. The breed is loving and kind. I can't say anything negative about it. Vito died of cancer in the summer of 2013. By the age of 8. That's a quite early death. I don't know if that's common by Leonberger's to get affected by cancer but I would really recommend to get this breed, especially if you have a family and a lot of nature in your neighborhood.
