I used pet sit for a woman who owned a black lab. Maggie was a great dog. She was very loyal to her friends. The biggest issue with Maggie is she required a lot of attention, which is why her owner used a pet sitter instead of taking her to a kennel. Labs seem to require a lot of activity and exercise to keep them healthy. They also have a tendency to become anxious when left alone for the day, Maggie was like this. I had to either come home at lunch to play with her or set out toys in different places in the house for her to find to keep her occupied. She didn't require much grooming, but I would brush her about once a week when we were outside playing. Maggie was an only dog for a long time. From what I recall she was quite jealous of other pets who would come to stay, unless they were smaller than her.
