The crazy Jack Russell Terrier

I had wanted a Jack Russell Terrier ever since watching the tv show "Wishbone". My mom and I knew someone who was breeding Jack Russells, so we decided to get one. We were able to visit her until she was ready to come live with us. For whatever reason, we named her Tinkerbell but usually called her Tink. She was a sweetheart of a dog and loved everyone, but boy was she a terror. She had so much energy she never knew when to stop! That dog could have run around outside all day long and not be tired.

Unfortunately we only had her for about a year. I was driving down the road one day and didn't realize she had chased after the car and I accidentally killed her. :( I was 16 at the time and was devastated. I don't think I will ever get over that. Because she died so young, I don't have a lot of experience to share. Her coat was very easy to care for because it was short. She was a very loving dog as well, and was good around kids and adults.

The only downside to our Jack Russell was the energy. We would let her play outside as often as possible and take time to play with her one on one, but she was like the energizer bunny!

A Jack Russell will make a great family dog, just be prepared to stay busy with your active dog!

Note: I don't have a digital photo of Tinkerbell, but this photo is similar to what she looked like. Credit goes to: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jack_Russell_Terrier_1.jpg
