The Great Pyrenees, first off, is an absolutely beautiful animal. With deep brown eyes often surrounded by black rings and a fluffy white coat, they will certainly catch the attention of anyone who sees them. The Great Pyrenees is very affectionate and lovable, particularly to his family. A natural guardian, he is usually great with kids, and given his laidback personality, he is not likely to become overly protective of the family unless he deems it necessary. For the inexperienced owner, these dogs can present issues with regards to training, as they can be stubborn and disobedient. It is also very important to keep up with consistent brushing and grooming; a matted Pyrenees is not a happy Pyrenees. Overall, my experiences with these dogs have exemplified the meaning of "gentle giant," and have solidified my desire to one day have one of my own.
