We got adopted him from a shelter where the previous owner had abandoned the puppies there. for some reason the shelter didnt recognize it as a great dane, they just thought it was a regular pup. So we adopted it and OH BOY DID HE GROW MUCH LARGER THAN EXPECTED. I remember my mom googling "why is my dog so big" (hhaha)

These dogs are very very energetic and they love to play. They are good with families and small children (even if it doesnt seem like it because of their size) Give this pet plenty of running space because he will run back and forth without end because of the energy they have, especially in their first 3 years. When the dog is about 1 year old he is HUGE. A grown man can lift him by his front paws (as if to dance) and they will be the same height. Because of its size and hyperactive personality i wouldn't recommend him to live inside with you unless you want your coffee table knocked over. :l
But if you have a large and spacious house I don't think there will be a problem :P

A great dog to have, very loyal and friendly.
