Who doesn't love a German Shepherd?

Darla came into my rescue as a 6 month old, malnourished and covered in mange. One would expect a dog who has been through so much to be hesitant to trust, however she was filled with so much love! I cared for Darla right when she came in, within a few hours she was obeying basic commands and walking with me on and off leash. Darla was a wonderful success story, now living with a fantastic family!

German Shepherds are very smart dogs that take well to training. This is why you always see them in police K-9 units and as drug sniffing dogs. They are typically friendly with family and with proper training are good with children and strangers (with or without fur). They shed a great deal, so keep that in mind for grooming. Also, they require a lot of exercise, fenced in yards are a must!
