My family and I adopted Louisa from a German Shepherd rescue group in Arizona in 2007. Louisa had been put up for adoption because of unspecified behavioral issues, but we never had any problems with Louisa -- well, almost no problems. Louisa was very much a family-oriented dog, and would express distress at being left home alone. Luckily, we were a large family, so it was rare that she was all by herself for more than a few hours. Louisa was a very easy-going dog. I took her on a mile walk twice a day for exercise, and she'd spend the rest of the day sprawled out on the floor in whatever room her "people" were in.
