My dad's old dog

I inherited Freebie from my father via my mother. My dad claimed he got Freebie from the Miami Animal Rescue when he was a puppy, and that he had been picked up on the beach the morning after a boat came in from Cuba.

After my dad died, my mom and I took Freebie in because he was my mom's favorite. Everyone who meets him loves him because he's so laid-back and agreeable.

He's a big dog, getting old now. He's not the smartest dog in terms of training, but he is very affectionate and quiet and mellow. The only time he gets upset is if someone comes to the yard or the cats try to steal his bone. Loves walks and long car rides--really long car rides. This is a dog who travels very well.
