Formosan Mountain Dog Review

I currently own one Formosan Mountain Dog and I have also owned two other which my parents currently care for. I became an owner of my dog during my time living in Taiwan. They are abundant here and stray dogs are not uncommon. My dog was a stray puppy that I have taken in.

I recommend this dog for people with a bit more experience looking after dogs. If this is your first dog than I would recommend that you are sure you have the time and patience to take care of this dog. This dog has a great personality, is relatively easy to train and is fairly independent. However, they can be barkers are are pretty protective. So, if you want a super friendly dog that is great with visitors to your home and other dogs than you may consider a different breed. This dog is however and excellent guard dog. Overall I would say this breed is a great choice for people considering a dog for the purposes of a guard or watch dog. However, if you are looking for a family type of dog than other breeds may suit you better.
