Had her since she was 12 weeks old. She was a rescue who wasn't in great physical shape; looked really malnourished. But within a week or so, her fur was full and thick and she both looked and was really healthy. From day one, she always the sweetest disposition and attitude. After two years old, I would take her for runs up to 3 miles, except when it got hot. She always did well. Walked her every day for at least one mile, except on days we ran. Always did well on walks. Sometimes pulled a bit because she wanted to detective everything on the planet. Bonded easily and well with my family members' dogs (Boxer, Newfoundland mix, Golden Retrievers, Golden Doodle, German Shepherd mix, Border Collie mix).
Very steady presence who would stare out the windows with contentment for hours. Was extremely happy to go for car rides, to the beach, visit friends, or run errands. Loved the ocean and lakes.
Worked well independently and in groups. Was good about coming to me if I wanted attention or giving me space and doing her own thing but simply providing a peaceful, joyful, loving energy to my home.
Easily trainable, learned potty training quickly and how to scratch the door to indicate she needed to go out.
She was brilliant and an amazing presence. She provided peace, stability, love, and acceptance effortlessly and endlessly. Most amazing dog I've ever know; the flat-coatedness gave her extra energy, athleticism, and intelligence; her chowness gifted her with alertness, guard-dogginess, and her ability to emotionally stable and present for all the animals and humans in her life. She was the best. 100% would recommend a flat-coated/chow mix.
