We got our Springer Spaniel Bob when he was two months old from a breeder. He lived to be eleven, but was riddled with health problems his entire life. Bob was basically untrainable as well, and most of the time oblivious to the world. I believe this is due to too much inbreeding which is a serious problem in Ireland. He was a friendly dog, and great around family. Bob spent most of his days playing around outside, and would have been a good hunting dog I think basing on how many small animals I saw him trekking around with. Of course, this did lead to a lot of unusual smells from Bob. We really loved Bob, but you have to be careful when buying from a non-professional breeder.
