Freckles was an English Springer Spaniel, and was the first dog my parents gave me. I was about 5 years old. We became best friends the moment we met. We were inseparable, and she was exactly the right dog to be around a young child. I remember snuggling with her and wrestling with her. She tolerated me no matter how annoying I was. And the word loyal does not paint a good enough picture. She was like a shadow, always there to protect and comfort me.
Freckles was also very intelligent. She learned quickly when I, as an eight year old, taught her some basic commands.
She was quiet while inside the house. When outside, she liked to play and bounce around the yard.
I have nothing negative to say about this breed. Freckles was loyal, sweet, affectionate, moderately easy to groom, great with other animals, and obedient. She was the perfect family dog. Highly recommended for anyone.
