I really do enjoy our English Springer Spaniel. She is a great family dog, and relatively easy to be around--she doesn't bark too often and she is sociable. She does not respond well to verbal commands and was difficult to train. It may just be our dog, not the entire breed per say. She requires a fair amount of grooming and sheds quite a bit. If you have allergies, don't go with the English Springer Spaniel. She digs up the backyard a lot, which is a bit frustrating. She does need a lot of people-time, which is fine, and she was a very energetic puppy. Now that she's older she has calmed down quite a bit and can sit for longer periods of time.
