My experience with the English Springer Spaniel comes from three dogs. My family owned the first one when I was a baby and it was the dog I learned to walk besides with. That one loved to play as most of the breed but was in comparison with the other two extremely calm. It was the first dog of this breed that behaved best of them all even though she had no training what so ever. She did almost never bark either except when she got very scared.

The third dog of this breed, the one that I currently own, is almost it's opposite. She loves to play and has so much energy. Luckily for my family we have a big yard where she can play and many people that can go on walks with her several times a day. This dog, Lava, has had puppy and agility training and really loves to do everything. She is the most love giving dog I've ever met, she always wants to lay on my lap and always gets super excited when she sees me. Even if I only been to the toilet or in another room.

The English Springer Spaniel is the smartest breed of dog I've ever owned. They all learnt every name in the family and has learned to understand the sentences of most everyday things. They really feel like an understanding human being.
