My parents adopted Charlie from a family that was moving and couldn't take him with them. He was a very active dog, easily excited. This breed definitely needs a lot of space to run around to meet their physical needs. I found Charlie rather noisy as he would bark at everything even squirrels on the lawn that he saw through the window. He was definitely friendly but I would only recommend this breed to families who are very active and/or have a lot of land. We ended up giving him away to a farm because we couldn't provide him with the space he needed. Unfortunately he wasn't a good fit for my family and my experience wasn't that positive which is why I rated this breed the way I did but, in the right home and with the right family, I believe this breed could be a great companion!
