SUPER FAMILY-ORIENTED. ISN'T TOO FOND OF CHILDREN BUT IS NOT DANGEROUS OR VICIOUS AROUND OTHERS (STRANGERS, WHEN HE GOES FOR WALKS). EXTREMELY FAST LEARNER. I TAUGHT TORO HOW TO SHAKE HANDS AND HE LEARNED TO RESPOND TO HIS NAME IN NO TIME. SHORT-HAIRED YET HE DOES SHED QUITE OFTEN. IF CONSIDERING A DOGO MAKE SURE TO BUY MULTIPLE LINT ROLLERS AND DO NOT EMBRACE DOG WITH BLACK CLOTHES ON BECAUSE HAIRS WILL DEFINITELY STAND OUT. I LOVE MY ARGENTINIAN MASTIFF. NEVER SAW OR EXPERIENCED ANOTHER DOG LIKE IT. GETS WAY TOO MANY COMPLIMENTS WHEN ON WALKS BECAUSE OF HIS BEAUTY. AN ATTENTION GET-ER. HE IS A BIG DOG. YOU WILL NOTICE WHEN A PUP THAT HIS PAWS ARE LARGER THAN NORMAL, SIGN THAT HE WILL BE A BIG DOG. MY TORO WEIGHS ABOUT 125LBS AND HE WILL BE ALMOST TWO YEARS OLD ON JULY 4TH, 2014. DOES NOT SMELL AT ALL EXCEPT LEAVES A FAINT SCENT IN THE HOUSEHOLD (MAKE SURE TO BUY SPRAYS AND CLEAN CARPET/CLOTHES OFTEN BECAUSE OF HAIRS). SUPER QUIET does not bark - HE DOES NOT MAKE A SOUND EXCEPT FOR WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER HE DID WHINE A BIT WHEN LOCKED INSIDE CRATE (AT NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY). Has streaks of excitement especially when someone comes through the front door he will come say HI. But will not harm if properly trained. My dogo went through professional training and is very obedient, great listener, intelligent, responsive to his family's commands. LOVES TO CUDDLE AND BE GIVEN A LOT OF ATTENTION. May develop attachment to owners so do not be over-attached when a pup if you are away from home for long periods of time during the day. He wants you by his side 24/7. Had a few cases of bad diarrhea when he was younger and went to multiple vet visits, but he is now super healthy. Eats twice a day so he does not require too much food and do not over-feed if you want him to be slim, lean, fit, and beautiful like a dogo should be. Everyone in my neighborhood LOVES Toro. He catches eyes everywhere he goes. Do not allow a dogo to sit with you on the couch, bed, etc. when a baby because he will try to be dominant. Only once the owners have established dominance when he is over 13 months old can you allow him to cuddle with you when you watch a movie on the couch. He loves this. Give your dogo all your LOVE & ATTENTION and you can't go wrong. They will try to win you over with their big friendly eyes so you can give them your food, but do not do this for a dogo's stomach is sensitive to human food. RICH DOG FOOD HIGH IN PROTEIN ONLY. My dogo, like I said, had stomach issues. You do not want this to happen because it causes pain for the dogo. He loves to play and might even be taller than you on his hind feet when he stands so playing might be a painful experience to someone who can't handle his size. Want a really big dog? Get a dogo. I highly recommend it.
