Don't let the title fool you - I LOVE THIS DOG. He's changed my whole world for the better. He's smarter than most people I know & he LOVES me unconditionally.
One day, I went to work. When I came home, I found Barkley on the front lawn. Apparently, after weeks of staying home alone comfortably, THAT day, he'd freaked out and decided I'd abandoned him. He scratched at the apartment door until there was a Doberman-sized hole in it, squeezed through, then pushed his way through the upstairs metal door (I assume by jumping up and pushing the handle, there wasn't as much damage). Upon finding himself outside, where he'd assumed I'd gone, & I wasn't there, he just sat on the lawn and patiently waited for me to come home. When I spoke to neighbours afterwards, they all said that the kids walking home from school just walked by the house and he didn't budge from the lawn - he was waiting for me. Silly mutt.
