Doberman Pinscher - Not good on farms with birds

I was raised on a Doberman Pinscher breeding farm. My father raised them for several years. These dogs are very intelligent, loyal, and protective. They look very much like a hound dog without their ears cut properly. We used to cut their tails ourselves, and take them to the Veterinarian to have their ears cut. They would sell for a good price, even without any registration papers. Although they look intimidating, they are just like any family dog if they are treated with love and affection. They make great pets!

They are not a good breed to have around birds or chickens because of the hound dog in them. We had a couple that killed many chickens in one day, not for the sake of eating them, but just for the fun of killing them. So, if you have a lot of birds, ducks, chickens, geese, guineas, turkeys, or other fowl, then be warned: the Doberman Pinscher could decide to have some fun with them if you know what I mean.
