Louie is a very good dog. The size of a large bicycle, he is a gentle, lanky giant and a very big baby. My uncle adopted him over a year ago as a puppy and he’s been a very special part of our lives since. Dobermans are good dogs that are smart and make good family dogs when trained properly.

I would not recommend caring for a large size Doberman unless you have a big house with a yard for them to run around in. Dobermans are high energy dogs that require lots of activity and very long walks. Dobermans are also prone to digestive issues, so it is imperative that you do a good amount of research into specific dog food brands and what Dobermans need in and out of their diets before deciding to care for a Doberman.

Dobermans get a bad reputation, in the same way that pit bulls or Rottweilers do, but this reputation couldn’t be farther from the truth. Dobermans are great dogs that love to play and will bring joy to your life. There is no such thing as an innately bad breed.
