Mara was a special dog. Most people think dobermans are agressive, but she was the sweetest thing. She used to put her head in our laps and stay there for hours. Next to the boxers, the doberman are my favorite dog breed.
She had an accident when was 3 years old, a snake was close to brother and was going to bit him, Mara got in the middle, the snake bit her and she lost one of her eyes. After that she was nervous and lost some of her sweetness, except with my dad they loved each other. She used to bark in the middle of the night if she heard a noise and was sleeping on her lost eye.
Despite that she was kind and never bit or were aggressive with the family or friends. She used to walk next to my dad without a chain, she wasn't trained, she just knew how to behave.
This a a wonderful dog, they are loyal and sweet. I would get another one in the future.
