I was very proud owner of a Dalmatian for seven years. I love dogs and have been an owner of various dogs for years. So below are a few pros and cons from owning a dalmatian. Overall from my experience they make great pets for any pet owner from beginners to advance pet owners.

Pros:
Happy, enthusiastic
Energetic
Quick learners
Willing to please
People oriented, Excellent indoor and outdoor dogs
Love to jog, hike, any outdoor sports
Polite, Loyal, Protect, Not a biter unless provoked
Good with other dogs
Easy to groom, little odor
Generally healthy dogs

Cons:
Lively, active!!
Maybe too lively for very little children
Need gentle, motivational obedience training early as possible
Not a yard dog more family oriented aspect
Need lots of exercise
If puppy require lots of socialization with various people. If not can become shy or aggressive if not acquainted with people.
Maybe quarrelsome if not acquainted with other dogs that are strange or new
Sheds continuously throughout the year- short hair can cling to clothes and furniture.
Some can be affected by deafness

These are some of the pros and cons of owning a dalmatian, but from my experience they are great dogs easy to maintain, loyal and very loving dogs.
