My grandma's husband had Sparkles from a puppy, but I was only around her when she was about 3 years old. I was staying with my grandma for awhile and got the pleasure of enjoying Sparkles company as well. She was a beautiful dog (as all dalmatians are) and was particularly fond of Beggin Strips. :)
Like all large dogs, an adequate amount of yard space for them to run and play is a must. Also, be wary when walking large dogs, especially if letting a child walk a large dog. Sometimes big dogs get excited and try to run ahead, overpowering the walker. The walker can fall and get hurt, not to mention the dog could get loose and risk getting hit by a car or running off (and it's a pain chasing after a pooch on the run!). I learned that lesson the hard way with Sparkles haha
