Darla, the Dalmatian

Darla is not an unusual name for a Dalmatian. In fact, my sister got her that name from the animated film, 101 Dalmatians, thinking she was Cruela De Vil. Darla was just 2 months old when we took her home. My sister got her from a breeder friend whose dog gave birth to 5 puppies. She was just an adorable spotted little creature when she first came home. She explored our place and then lay on the floor. For a dog, she is quite lazy and she doesn’t want her pink paws to go dirty. But even though we always find her lying down on the floor, she also has an impressive talent in running.

Among our dogs at home, Darla is always our bet in dog shows. She always wins temperament contests and bags home a lot of dog salon gift checks that she doesn’t really need that much. She is a classy, low maintenance dog after all. The texture of her fur feels smooth and shiny. And because people love her, she has won the title “Darling of the Crowd” in one of the dog shows she went to. If you own a Dalmatian like Darla, I would consider you a very lucky dog owner except for her smelly poo… but that’s just it.
