Dalmatians are excellent companions to have if you've got the time and patience. Most Dalmatians are stubborn by nature; and most means of punishment will only strengthen their resolve. Positive reinforcement is a must. Dalmatians typically form a strong bond with only one or two people
Although my Dalmatian is good with kids, most Dalmatians are not. If you're getting a Dalmatian for your children, you will have to pay special attention to to your Dalmatian and train them so they won't react negatively to your kids. Neutering the males will cut down on their aggression
Dalmatians aren't the easiest dogs to own, but they're well worth the time that you will have to put in to keep one.
