A colleague of my mothers was relocated to another city and couldn't bring his dog: a Dalmation/Labrador mix, so we got to adopt him. He was roughly 6 years old when we got him and one of the most friendly dogs I have ever met. Great with strangers and friend alike, he simply loved everyone and everything, for good and for bad: he wasn't much of a guard dog, since he was more likely to lick a burglar's face rather than scare them off.
given that he was quite old when we got him (6 years), he was difficult to train and it required a lot of patience and attention, which could be frustrating, but also highly rewarding.
All in all, this dog was an awesome pet, a great friend and one of the most significant pet experiences of my life!
