Max- My Headache

I am going to be completely honest and say that my dog is not the right choice for me. Of course, he has grown on me and I love him but he is very difficult to take care of and is not affectionate. I enjoy cuddling with my dogs and I can't do this with Max. Despite my efforts to potty train Max, I still come home to a mess every day I come home and he also tosses the garbage can deliberately. It appears that all he likes to do is play with his rubber chicken. He barks at nearly everything and every sound. Also, he is a wire haired and he likes to roll in the dirt so maintenance is extremely high for this little one. Overall, if you are a person that doesn't like overly energetic dogs, I suggest that you do not buy a Dachshund and this is just coming from my personal experience.
