I will admit to being less of a dog person, but I think this particular breed is a bit hard to work with. They're very loud, which has caused lots of problems with our neighbors. Suki specifically is also hard to clean and care for, and has had some health problems. Dachshunds are also very stubborn at times. If you want more of a hunting dog, dachshunds have the temperament. But they can be hard to work with in a family setting.
