My Dachshunds name is Dingo and he is a firecracker. I got him as a puppy and he is a handful. He does not interact with children or strangers well. He has had training since a puppy, but he still tends to bark a lot when new people are around. He does okay with other dogs, but wants to dominant all others. He is good for alerting us when new people are on our farm. Dingo is very active and loves to chase rabbits. He does well with my children, but they have been around him since birth. I am still leery of leaving him alone with small children. Overall, this is a good breed for older children and adults.
