We have two dachshunds, one older (Tigger) and one younger (Gracie). We rescued both. Gracie is like any younger dog - obnoxious and all over the place. Tigger is about 12 years old and can get around, but likes to relax. You need to train these dogs early and stay on them. We did not and now we are paying for it. Their backs can also be problematic. Tigger had two slipped discs and it was an expensive surgery. These dogs are great around kids and kids like being around them because of their small and funny looking appearance.
