Even a Wonderful Dog can have Medical Issues

My family lost our first dachshund when I was eight. We all agreed we wanted another dachshund, so we got Fritz. He was a wonderful dog and we loved him completely. He loved to go for walks and traveled well in our motorhome when we went on vacation. In the evening he loved to snuggle with us on the sofa. He also had a ton of medical bills. Fritz had his first seizure when he was six months old, and he took medication fpr the rest of his life. When he was six years old he slipped a disc in his back, and had to go on more medication. He visited the vet regularly, and all these expenses added up. We cared for him, but it was heartbreaking to watch him have a seizure and not be able to ease his pain. Someday I hope to have another dachshund because Fritz was my favorite dog. When I do I will sign up for pet health insurance because I know they can have many medical expenses.
