My Dachshund

When I first got my dachshund, I also had an older labrador retriever who was made very nervous by the new puppy. She was very affectionate and wanted to play however, my lab was not interested. I had to keep them separated, though this was not either of the dog's fault, they were just not compatible. My lab passed shortly after I got my dachshund and since then I have only had issues with her being very shy around new people. She gets very scared and shakes when she sees a person she does not know and it is difficult to get her to stop barking. We have had a bit of trouble keeping her at the right weight, she is a little heavier than she should be. Overall, she is a great dog so far, very lovable and cuddles are always wanted. I'm excited to see how she will change and grow in the years to come!
