Julia was super young when I got her, and as a teenager I had always dreamed of having a dachshund so of course, for me, she was a dream come true and I couldn't love her any more than I did.
Julia was very aware of my emotions and she shared all my joy and sadness throughout the years, which made a great partner and my constant company.
There were a few downsides, maybe because of her breed, or maybe because I never bothered to train her too much, but she never lost that constant need to bite and chew everything, so leaving shoes around the house was definitely a no go for us. The three of us at home would pretty much go insane with all the toilet paper she got out of the bathroom and all the wholes in the carpets.
Other than that minor detail, she was a delight to be around and we were all in loved with her and her energy and happiness.
I would get a dachshund any day and do it all over again.
