Gretchen was a sweet dog... usually. Her breath was absolutely wretched and she was yappy. She would bark, and bark and bark and bark and bark and bark. She also couldn't be trained. She messed in the house ALL the time! Her favorite spots were under my bed and in front of my window...in the house. We would start to train her, and after about three weeks of being really good with no accidents, she'd mess really bad. It was like she forgot everything. She was sweet, though. I think the problem with Gretchen is that the lady who gave her to us was a truck driver, and she had about fifteen little dachshunds and when she would go on her trips, she would leave all of them in one room with litter boxes, and the bigger dogs ate and the smaller ones didn't. When we got Gretchen, she was malnourished and sad looking. I think she was mentally screwed up and that's why she was never able to train.
