Ginger: A Chiweenie Story

I have owned my dachshund/chihuahua for seven years now. I got her when she was 2 months old and right away I knew she was the one. Her personality was very calm, but playful and sweet. When she began teething, I got her a chew toy and she never had a problem with chewing things she was not supposed to be chewing. As she grew, we introduced her to other dogs and found that she was approachable to most, but preferred to be on her own. She loves to go for walks and explore new places, but also enjoys taking a nap on the couch every now and then. She rarely barks at people and is wonderful with kids. She is a short haired dog so grooming is minimal and is mainly baths and nail clipping. Overall, my dog is fits perfectly with my lifestyle and from my experience, a chiweenie can make a great family dog for families with small children or other pets.
