Coyote/Dog Mix Sweet but Anxious

As you might expect, our Coyote/Dog Mix is easily frightened. We found her on the side of the road and immediately fell in love with her fuzzy face.

She's gradually become more comfortable around the family, but she's still terrified of strangers. We live on a farm, so she doesn't get to be around them very often, but every time friends come over she cowers under our legs and refuses to come out.

That being said, I've never met a sweeter, happier dog when she's in her comfort zone. She loves being in the back yard, barking at birds and deer (though she doesn't bark very often). We love playing with her, as she pounces on the toys instead of biting them with her mouth.

We haven't done much training with her, so I can't speak much about her ability to learn new commands. But, after hanging out with the other dogs, she has learned "come" and "no," which is about all she needs to know.
