I have an 8 year old beagle mix that I adopted from a shelter. He was very high strung and probably the hardest dog to train, but ass the years passed on, he became a lot more manageable. We of coarse had his crazy puppy years where he'd bite just about anyone who walked through the door. His bite wasn't aggressive or mean in any way. it was more like a hard nip (playful), but that is enough to scare anyone away, so we didn't have many visitors for a while. We eventually took him to Pets Mart's doggy training. Well, those trainers didn't help in the least, so we were stuck with a hyper active young dog that didn't know how to be gentle. We never necessarily trained him out of this (it was impossible). Instead, he slowly grew out of it over the years, and has become one of the most gentle and loving dogs I've ever owned. He has ben a huge part of my family's life and has made amazing unforgettable memories with us.
