Collies - Beauitfully Intelligent and Graceful

While growing up I was blessed to have a collie in my life. We got her when she was 7 months old. As both me and my parents have said, she was the best dog we have ever owned.

Collies are incredibly smart dogs, which makes them very trainable. All the way up until her death we could teach Sophie new things. She was also very protective of her family and would be leery of strangers, but would never attack unless first provoked by a stranger and even then she never bit anyone.

Collies are high activity. They love to run and are often great agility dogs. Like their cousin the border collie they have a natural herding ability.

Collies are fantastic family dogs and are good with children. As with any dog they need to be introduced gradually with small children. They are protective dogs and make good guard/watch dogs.

I will adopt another collie someday. They are fantastic dogs.
