While growing up I was always around these dogs as my mom always had them in our home. We had Sables, Merle and Tri-Colors. When a puppy became available I jumped at the chance to own one of these dogs. It was great he was a amazing Watch Dog I was a single mother and no one got in the house unless Champ approved! I had a baby who he was tender and loving with. Champ got sick and had epilepsy and had a seizure that the vet had a hard time pulling him out of. We lost him along with part of my heart. One thing I can tell you is a Collie will be part of your family from day one. They do require grooming as they are a medium size breed with lots of fur. They need lots of exercise and room. Collies really are "mans best friend"
