Lucky - The Guardian

I got Lucky a couple of months after my grandfather died, and he was a great puppy which loved to play and to carry my shoes around, and he helped me deal with my grief . He grew up to be a beautiful, fierce and loyal dog which would drag me around when we went out for a walk. But as the years passed, he became more attached to my father than to me, because I was busy with school and I couldn't pay him the attention he needed, especially when it came to grooming since he had this smooth, long-haired coat that needed constant care. Nevertheless, Lucky was very protective of all of us and our house, and he never liked when somebody outside of the family visited our home, even if it were our closest neighbours. What he liked was to chase chickens and pluck their feathers, but fortunately, we always managed to intervene on time. He didn't mind the cats, but they all preferred to keep to their part of the yard. We were very sad when he passed away after 13 years of being part of our family.
