Spike was my first ever pet, and I had my early childhood with him. He was great around kids, and other pets - both at people's houses and at the park. He was very diligent and calm in nature, but also had lots of energy. These dogs definitely require a big backyard to roam around in during the day if the owners work, otherwise he would need at least two long walks. He did drop his fair share of hair around the house, so vacuuming twice a week was required. And unfortunately it was his hips that gave way as he aged. A great, active and warm dog.
