Collies has such a SWEET disposition. As a pet sitter, I cared for several and fell in love with the breed. When I came across Cheyenne, I had to have her. Collies are SO gentle and loving. They do love to be outside. They are working dogs and have a strong drive to heard anything. If they cannot be in a big yard to heard squirrells and such (or at least try), they will heard children, cats or whatever is in the house. The long hair can be a chore to keep up with but well worth the trouble for the best companion ever.
